The emphasis is on CSR in the Asia-Pacific region. It will be a highly practical, workshop based course, and is once again limited to 20 participants. There will be 8 half-day workshops, including a half-day field trip based on a practical stakeholder engagement. In addition, we will be organising an optional 1-day trip to mainland China. CSR Asia Directors Richard Welford and Stephen Frost will be running the workshops. They have extensive experience of working with companies on CSR issues in the region. There will also be participation from other CSR Asia staff with expertise in dispute resolution, social security, SA8000 and public health. Local NGOs and business representatives will also participate.
The overarching approach is to demonstrate how CSR is linked to good business through concepts such as image and brand enhancement. We will also be looking as CSR as a way to manage risks. We will examine important concepts such as transparency and accountability and consider how CSR can be implemented in practice. Workshops will cover:
Perspectives on CSR in Asia
Business and human rights
Labour standards and trade unions
Tackling child labour, bonded labour and forced labour
Stakeholder engagement (linked to half-day field trip)
Half-day workshop based on a site visit to the Tung Chung Cable Car
The environment and natural resources
Public health and occupational safety

Stephen Frost(霍迪)
企業(yè)社會責(zé)任 亞洲 (CSR Asia) 董事,同時(shí)為香港城市大學(xué)東南亞研究中心的研究員.他曾經(jīng)與眾多致力于改善亞洲勞動標(biāo)準(zhǔn)的人員或機(jī)構(gòu)合作,其中包括歐盟、跨國公司、工會,非政府組織,工人和學(xué)者.他最近期的研究著重于在亞洲中國可持續(xù)和社會責(zé)任投資社區(qū)內(nèi)圍繞勞動標(biāo)準(zhǔn)和工作環(huán)境的困境,中國復(fù)雜而快速變化的職業(yè)安全健康環(huán)境,外商直接投資對工業(yè)關(guān)系的影響和企業(yè)社會責(zé)任.他最新發(fā)表的文獻(xiàn)包括了中國玩具行業(yè)的企業(yè)生產(chǎn)行為守則,柬埔寨、新加坡、越南的勞動關(guān)系和法規(guī),中國的勞動標(biāo)準(zhǔn),在香港建筑行業(yè)工作的尼泊爾工人,香港和中國大陸在東南亞的投資,中國職業(yè)安全健康調(diào)整性框架的近期改變.他也是亞洲-太平洋勞動法回顧:新世紀(jì)工人權(quán)利(AMRC,2003)的共編者.在加入香港城市大學(xué)曾在亞洲最大最歷史悠久的非政府組織(AMRC)工作過三年
Richard Welford(威理夫教授)
企業(yè)社會責(zé)任亞洲(CSR Asia)的董事,同時(shí)也是香港大學(xué)企業(yè)環(huán)境管制計(jì)劃的副主任。威理夫教授在歐洲和亞洲生活和工作過,是一位擁有豐富國際商業(yè)的知識的經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)家。作為CSR的專家,他出版了15本關(guān)于全球一體化,國際商務(wù),環(huán)境管理,企業(yè)社會責(zé)任的書以及過百的學(xué)術(shù)文章,也在全球進(jìn)行過很多關(guān)于企業(yè)社會責(zé)任和可持續(xù)性發(fā)展的調(diào)查研究。
